As November is upon us, Emergency Cheats UK would like to express our stance on this dedicated month for Men's Mental Health.
November is incredibly important to us at ECUK, and it's not something we would like to be shy about, as not many people are aware of it or simply don't care. A lot of men don't speak about their mental health due to the fact that they think they'll be seen as weak or fear that they'll be picked upon for doing so.
It's an upsetting fact that men account for 75-80% of suicides and that suicide stands as the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50, making it one of the largest causes of male mortality.
Suicides made by men roughly occur around,
696,00 a year...
58,066 a month...
14,516 a week...
2,073 a day...
86 every hour...
2 every minute...
Meaning that by the time you've read this, 1 man has likely taken his own life.
As of 2015, nearly two-thirds of suicides worldwide, accounting for 1.5% of all deaths, were among men. In 2020, suicide rates for men in England were recorded at 15.8 per 100,000, while the rate for females was significantly lower at 5.5 per 100,000.
We don't know what you may be going through right now, but for all those who may or may not be struggling, if they knew what you go through and how hard you fight everyday to stay here, they'd be wondering how you're still here. How you get up everyday and do what you do. We're so proud of you. Keep putting in that effort, and everything will eventually work out.
Remember, it's not weak to speak.
